This morning we visited a castle and the gardens which were different, there was even a pet cemetery.

Our last day in Dublin

This morning, thanks to Bernie, we discovered Trinity College.  We saw how beautiful it was and what an opportunity it would be to study there.  Afterwards we went to see the Book of Kells which is one of the oldest books in the world.

Then we ate in Trinity College's gardens

went to the center of Dublin next to the Spire and went shopping.

Then we went to Greystones Gaelic football club where we learnt how to play hurling and Gaelic football.  It was a lot of fun!

Belfast

This morning we left for Belfast with our usual coaches. When we arrived we visited the town hall which was impressive,

then we went to Belfast castle on the hill over the bay

 We went round the different protestant and catholic districts of the town, to the Peace wall which divides the two areas, and we learnt about the Troubles in Ireland

to Queen's university 

In the end we had some free time.

Day 6 Another day in Dublin

This morning, we took the DART to go to Dublin and we stopped at Pearse station.

 Then we walked and saw a bit more of Dublin, the Merrion district with its wonderful Georgian houses with the coloured front doors and ornate lamp posts.

We visited The Georgian House Museum and discovered the life of a middle class family during George's reign. It was interesting but the house was small with lots of stairs : 82!
 


After the museum we ate at St Stephen's gardens unfortunately the weather was not too good,  too much wind.

And most important event of the day : Hugo's birthday!

In the afternoon we visited Christ Church Cathedral which was rather beautiful with a lot of decorations like in some French cathedrals or churches.

Afterwards we went to Moore Street to a small market where we had a competition : we were divided into groups and had to answer clues related to typical Irish food. People were really understanding and tried to help us find the answers.
