This morning we left Greystones and our driver, Brian, took us to the west coast. He taught us a famous Irish song and Mrs Robin made us sing some traditional Irish songs too! Brian also told us about Irish history.
Then we arriveed at an old ruined town, the old part of Athenry, with a castle's keep, a church, a cemetery and part of the wall. This is where we had our picnic
We were then dressed up in medieval costumes and the guide told us about the medieval history of Ireland, of the High king Henry and of King Dermot and so on...

but the guide made us play the roles of the different famous Irish people like Strongbow, or Princess Iffa,....
Later we were taught how to use a bow and arrows, and we had a rally race. It was all very funny!
In the afternoon we went to Galway where we had some free time to go shopping. The weather was really nice and we were able to spend some time in the harbour in the sun!
